Welcome to the Cleanest State in India - Sikkim, and transfer to the capital city. As the aircraft lands at the nearest airport, our representative waits outside to meet & greet on arrival at Bagdogra and drives towards Gangtok (Alt.5550Ft/1675M). The drive is about 4 hours following the most scenic way through the beautiful lanes of Sikkim along with the picturesque Teesta River.
On arrival, check in to the beautiful view rooms of the hotel well equipped with modern amenities and sink into the soft bed to get off the exhaustion. In the evening, take a stroll in the neighborhood or enjoy some hot coffee sitting at the balcony while admiring the beauty of the place. Overnight at Gangtok.
As the morning sores in, the warm rays of the sun knocks through the window to give a startup call for the second day. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel in its peaceful surroundings, and load the bags with dry foods before leaving for a full day trip to Tsomgo Lake with Baba Mandir / Nathula Pass Excursion.
Tsomgo Lake (12400ft) - Also known as Changu Lake is an oval shaped glacial lake which is only 40 km from Gangtok City, and almost about 1Km in length with 15 meters depth. The name Tsomgo is made of two words in Bhutia Language 'Tso' means 'lake' and 'Mgo' means 'head' in a short 'source of the lake'. This high altitude lake is surrounded by snow-capped steep mountains and remains frozen during wintertime. As summer beings to step-in, the glacier melts and the lake gets its origin. The locals consider the lake to be sacred, and it reflects different colors with the change in seasons.
New Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir - The Baba Mandir was built in the Memorial of Baba Harbhajan Singh or the 'Hero of Nathula', a soldier in the Indian Army. It is situated at a distance of 12Km from Tsomgo lake, and 52Km from Gangtok city. Baba Harbhajan served as a part of border patrol force, and in the year 1968 while escorting a mule column he felts on a fast-flowing stream and got carried away by the powerful water current. Soldiers found his remains after 3 days and cremated with full military honor along with a shrine on his Samadhi built as per Baba’s wish, which he expressed through his friend post-death. The original bunker of Baba Harbhajan Singh is located further up near the Gnathang valley which is the Old Baba Mandir but because of its difficult terrain tourist can’t reach there so they build a New Mandir for easy access. This shrine believed to have wish-fulfilling powers along with that Baba is still guarding the international border between India and China. On Sundays, a 'Langar' runs at the temple, which provides free meals to the visitors.
Nathula Pass - A major mountain pass in the Himalayas in East Sikkim district, which is a corridor of passage between India and Tibet before it was closed in 1962 but reopened in 2006. Located around 56 km from Gangtok at an altitude of 14450 ft, the road to Nathula is the highest motorable roads, passes through the Tsomgo lake, and requires an entry permit to visit. The view from this international border is breathtaking and allows the tourist to get a glimpse of China on the other side along with their Chinese militants. On a clear day, the road winding down the Chumbi valley can be seen.
(Nathula Pass is closed on Monday /Tuesday and Permit depends on Weather condition). Overnight at Gangtok.

I recently book a trip in October with Nature Wings after reading a lot of positive feedback especially their expertise in East Sikkim. Our plan was for 7N/8D covering North and East Sikkim. Through out my journey in North, every day i used to get calls from them inquiring about the travel comfort, stay etc. I was really surprised by that, but the joy did not last much once we started the East Sikkim trip. From handling of Permits, coordinating with driver, calling his friend to pass on all my details via whats app to get the permit on time was a real pain. This happened in-spite me providing all details on whats app and email at least 10 days prior to travel. On top of that when we reached Zuluk, the home stay guy said there was no communication given to them via phone or email about my stay. Luckily for us another family could not make it and we were allotted their room. Otherwise i would have to look for another place. Overall there were a bit of hick ups covering East as there was no coordinator like we had in South. For the price we are paying i would expect a much better service. Luckily the drivers were damn good and down to earth. From stay perceptive ... more
We recently visited West Sikkim Tour with Pelling, Kaluk and Ravangla through NatureWings. The way they planned the trip was amazing and all their arrangements were outstanding. Booked us in the best possible hotels with amazing view within reasonable price. I highly recommend Naturewings and I promise i will do future trips through them.
Had a wonderful tour of Gangtok, Pelling and Darjeeling. Nature wings staff were very helpful and cooperative. I would like to thank Mr Indrajit Kar, especially for his help throughout our tour.
We just returned from the west Sikkim tour, packaged and arranged by ‘Naturewings’; route Gangtok – Kaluk - Pelling – Ravangla. Can’t wait to share few things here…the driver we got, was an experienced young locale chap, who knows the hills very well. He shared his little tips as a guide beyond just driving. Quality of the hotels were very high class. We got warm and comfortable rooms, along with the hot and fresh foods. Their hospitality touched our mind. The package was beyond our expectations within this price range. Overall, it was a life time experience for me and my family. We will look forward for more tours from ‘Naturewings’ in the future, for sure.
Recently went to West Sikkim - Ravangla, kaluk and Pelling through Naturewings. Thanks to excellent coordination by Sri Indrajeet Kar, the trip turned out to be a memorable one.The car provided was in nice shape and the driver very cooperative and amiable. All hotels/Resorts provided, especially the Mandarin Resort at Kaluk, afforded breathtaking view of Kanchenjunga along with warm hospitality and nice, hygienic food. The tour schedule, hotel vouchers, car details were intimated well in time beforehand and strictly followed. All in all a big thumbs up for Naturewings - Highly recommended.
We just returned from a West Sikkim Tour and the trip was a memorable one. It was our 4 Night 5 Days trip, covering Pelling in 2 Nights and Ravangla in 2 nights. In Pelling, we stayed in Crassula Ovata retreat in the Upper Pelling helipad area. The hotel is a new one with a mesmerizing view of Mount Kanchanjhungha from my bed. The location and ambiance of the hotel are too good, and we enjoyed every bit of the moments we stayed there. Honestly, we were in no mood to go out sightseeing as the hotel gives us the perfect ambiance of peacefulness and tranquillity. In Ravangla also, we got a beautiful hotel, Barfung Retreat. This beautiful resort with a good room and a breathtaking view of snow peaks from our room. In both the hotels, the food was also good, and our driver from Bagdogra to Bagdogra was helpful and jovial. We must thank NatureWings for offering us such a memorable trip and will go through them once again in the North East India tour.
We Traveled to Pelling, Ravangla and Kaluk during this year's puja vacation. Best place to have a great view of the peaks of the Kanchanjangha range of Himalayas. Just get up around 5:00 am in October and could see the golden snow-capped mountain peaks from the rising sun (because of fewer clouds, and the possibility of getting a clear view of snow-clad peaks). Peaceful Pelling is famous for its sightseeing points like Shingshore Bridge, Sky-Walk and Monastery. We stayed in Hotel Sikkim Aurora, close to the Helipad, and on the top of the town. Most of the rooms are mountain facing, can see the peaks from the bed as well as bathrooms. Just relax and enjoy the show. I strongly recommend a visit over this place for a couple of days (minimum). Overall the hotels, cars and foods arrangement made by NatureWings was satisfactory and within budget.
We had traveled through NatureWings with a family from Kolkata. It was a well-organized trip. After 5 hours of tedious journey from Bagdogra Airport, we reached the destination. Our joy was getting double throughout the way step by step. We were overwhelmed by its natural beauty. It was some more than I expected. The rooms were booked well in advance and well-maintained hotels. Mr. Indrajit provided good support in guiding us as we were traveling with a 4-year-old kid. We had a wonderful trip to the chilling weather in December. Hipped up with fresh enthusiasm, the trip to Pelling - West Sikkim was filled with thrills and comfort. I was able to explore from classical enrichment of Sikkimese architecture to its wild green side of nature. In case you are traveling to Sikkim, I would always suggest you NATUREWINGS from Kolkata as it holds the best information in and around Sikkim.
