You should book your Kaziranga Tour Package during the winter holidays. You can visit to Kaziranga anytime between the end of November and the first week of April. Beginning in early November and lasting through the end of March, winter in the North East is really long providing good opportunities for winter vacation. During winter these areas experience pleasant and travel friendly weather. In winter, the temperature in Kaziranga varies from a high of 24 degrees Celsius to a low of 6 degrees Celsius. When you explore this sanctuary on an elephant safari, the long, sprawling, swampy plain of Kaziranga appears beautiful in the wintertime mist. The greatest way to explore Kaziranga is on an elephant's back because it doesn't follow a set route and can get you into some areas that a jeep cannot. Jeep Safari is equally fantastic during the winter months. Reserve an open-hood jeep and tour some of the greatest ranges that provide close-up views of Kaziranga's spectacular wildlife. Jeep safaris in Kaziranga can be a little bit dusty, but they are still fun.
Even if the weather is hot and muggy, summer is still a fantastic season to visit Kaziranga. As this huge, open area receives a lot of rain and is annually flooded by the mighty Brahmaputra River, monsoon is not the best season to book any Kaziranga Packages. Monsoon season brings a halt to both human and animal life here. Therefore, it is best to avoid the Kaziranga Tour Plan from the first of June to the last week of September.

The Burhapahaar tourism zone of Kaziranga is located around 30 km from the central zone of Kaziranga National Park. The entry gate of this zone is situated in the village of Ghorakati on the National Highway and the first zone on the way to Kaziranga from Guwahati by road.

Kaziranga National Park is a world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site. This park is famous for the Great Indian one horned rhinoceros. As of now there are more or less 2000 rhinos which can be seen with a safari tour. Established in 1908 as a reserved forest, this park was designated as a game reserve in 1916 and as a wildlife sanctuary in 1950. Later in 1974 it was declared as National Park.
The best time to visit Kaziranga is anywhere from November to April. Since the whole of Assam receives a major rainfall in the monsoon and the pre-monsoon time of the year, the Kaziranga National Park floods in the months of June, July and August. No wonder the rhinos love bathing and staying in water during these months. The water starts receding in September and October and the place is open to tourism from November again. So, if you have a plan for Kaziranga Tour, Book your Kaziranga Package package within End of October to early March. From end of March to early July it will be very hot, windy and not suitable for any kind of Safari which are the main attractions in Kaziranga. Scorching Sun and dusty wind may ruin your safari. So avoid summer and monsoon in Kaziranga and book your package in winter from NatureWings - The best Kaziranga Tour Operator from Guwahati.
By Air : If you want to travel Kaziranga by FLight, there are two nearest airports which are Guwahati International Airport [GAU] and Jorhat Airport [JRH], located at a distance of 217 km and 97 km respectively from the park. The Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, located in Guwahati, is the best option to arrive by air from any corner of India or abroad for the Kaziranga Safari Tour. From the Airports, you can further use the roadways to reach the park. So the booking the Kaziranga Package Tour from Guwahati is the best option.
By Train : If travelers choose to reach Kaziranga, the nearest railway station will be Furkating which is located at a distance of 75 km from the park. The station can be reached from major cities like Guwahati, Kolkata, New Delhi, etc. However, travelers can also use the other nearest railway stations like Guwahati railway station and Jorhat railway station located at a distance of 240 km and 90 km respectively. Both these railway stations are the major railway stations of the Northeast railways.
By Road : The main gate of the Kaziranga Park is situated in a small Kohora town which lies on the National Highway NH 37 due to which Kohora is connected to all the major cities of Assam such a Guwahati, Tezpur, Jorhat, Nagaon, Golaghat, Dimapur, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, etc. by the state transport buses or the privately run buses and minibusses. So to reach the park, first, you can reach Guwahati & Jorhat and then use the roadways to reach the park conveniently.
One can enjoy the main attractions of Kaziranga by Jeep, which is usually accompanied by a guide or escort. Jeep Safari in Kaziranga is a wonderful ride through which one can explore tigers, one horned rhinoceros, wild buffaloes, elephants, herd of deer, pythons, and many other mammals & birds as well. You can book safari permit by directly visiting the Kaziranga zone offices but unavailability of permit is a usual scenario, the best way to consult NatureWings to book the safari for you in advance so that you can enjoy the safari conveniently without any hassles when you will reach there on your scheduled date.
There are two options to explore Kaziranga National Park - Jeep Safari and Elephant Safari. Jeep safari is the simple and affordable, while elephant safari is much more exciting option. It is mostly depends on the choice of the tourists but NatureWings suggest to try both safaries available in Kaziranga.
Elephant Safari in Kaziranga takes you through the Kohora, Mihimukh, Arimarah, Hole Path and Bagori or western zone. Western zone is highly recommended Safari Zone in Kaziranga where there is strong probability of spotting tiger and most famous one-horned rhinos.
Elephant can traverse into the deep jungles to reach very close to the place where mainly Rhino resides, and Jeep Safari requires muddy forest roads to traverse inside the Jungles, so to watch the Rhinos more closely, Obviously Kaziranga Elephant Safari is a better choice.
The Elephant Safari in Kaziranga can be booked at the two centres at the two safari zones which are the Central zone, also known as Kohora zone, at Kohora and the Western zone at the Bagori. At both the centres, the permits for the elephant safari can be obtained depending on the availability. The elephant safari is organized only in the morning time in the two shifts or sometime three shifts for one hour from 05:00 am to 06:00 am, 06:00 am to 07:00 am and 07:00 am to 08:00 am. The third shift (07-08 am) is organized only if there are more tourists who cannot be accommodated in the earlier two shifts. So, the third shift is optional and depends on the park authority to organize or not. For the Elephant Safari in the Western Zone of Kaziranga, the safari permits can be obtained from the range-office at Bagori and for the Elephant Safari in the Central Zone of Kaziranga, the safari permits can be obtained from the centenary convention centre at Kohora. The western zone is considered as the best zone for the elephant safari and most of the tourists choose this zone for the maximum enjoyment of the elephant safari in the dense forest of Kaziranga. You can book elephant safari permit by directly visiting the Kaziranga zone offices but unavailability of permit is a usual scenario, the best way for a Confirm Elephant Safari Booking in Kaziranga you can contact NatureWings to book the safari for you in advance so that you can enjoy the safari conveniently without any hassles when you will reach there on your scheduled date.
Yes. Kaziranga is one of those rare national parks in India, where you can see the big five mammals - Indian Rhinos, Asiatic Elephants, Royal Bengal Tigers, Swamp Deer and Water Buffalo. There are approximately 86 tigers in the area but due to the tall elephant grass, it's hard to spot them.
Shillong, Kaziranga, North-East Package Tour Reviews
4.8 Stars Rating, out of 5
based on 89 Reviews
We visited North East, mainly Kaziranga and Shillong, Cherapunji with NatureWings in last December with my family and friends. We were looking for the North East Package Tour in internet and got the NatureWings name along with few others. After going through their numerous reviews and their proposal we found they are the best specialist company for North East Package. After Availing their service, we are very happy and fully confident that we have chosen the right partner for North East Tour. In our group, we have 3 families with 4 kids and kids were particularly excited about the Kaziranga Jungle Safari to see the One-Horn rhino from the stone throwing distance. Our tour started from Guwahati and first we visited Kaziranga National Park. In Kaziranga Western Range, we took the early morning Kaziranga Elephant Safari. It was an amazing experience as through elephant safari in Kaziranga Western range, we went to very close to the One-horn Rhino teams. In the afternoon we went to Kaziranga Central Range for the Kaziranga Jeep Safari. In the open hood Jeep, we entered into the central range, which is consists of mainly tall grass and we could locate Rhinos from little bit distance. Our Kids were extremely happy to enjoy the both Kajiranga Jungle Safari. From Kaziranga we went to shilong and Cherapunji, where we have enjoyed all the sightseeing including Dawki River and Seven Sister Falls. Our Special thanks to Mr. Sandip Raha, Director NatureWings and his entire North East Team who made our trip perfectly flawless and memorable. We will certainly take their help in future travel and recommend to others too.
We have taken Kaziranga and Arunachal Trip through NatureWings in this year January month. It was Nine Nights trip with my three friends and their families. Our trip includes Kaziranga, Tawang, Dirang, Bomdila and Bhalukpong. We are from Mumbai and we got the reference of NatureWings from one of my close friend, who took the North East Package from NatureWings last year and suggested me to take the Kaziranga Package Tour along with Arunachal with NatureWings only as they were extremely happy with NatureWings Service. So after a discussion, we did lots of customization as our choice and they revised the itinerary happily so many times. We have planned for Kaziranga Jungle Safari for long and our first day was in Kaziranga Jungle and on the next day early morning we took the famous Kaziranga Elephant Safari. It was only once in a life time experience as we could see the One Horn Rhinos just from few metre distance. In the afternoon, we took the Kaziranga Jeep Safari in the central range and that too was great experience. We stayed in a nice resort close to Kaziranga Western Range and resort was very beautiful with nice ambience, food and service were extremely good. Next day, we started for Western Aurnachal and we visited Bomdila, Tawang, Diranga and Bhalukpong and overall Arunachal experience was also very good. Thank you NatureWings for providing best experience in our North East Package.
We had visit the Kaziranga forest with Naturewings this January and it was an awesome experience. Kaziranga Sanctuary has a variety of flora and fauna, the one horn rhino, tiger and elephants could be seen from here, with a variety of birds. We woke up early in the morning that day for the Kaziranga elephant safari, it was about an hour we had the trip. We had the luck to see the Rhinos just at a few meters of distance from us. After finishing the safari we had a great breakfast at our hotel (which was booked by Naturewings team) and went for a drive to the part of the Kaziranga, Kaziranga Central range to enjoy the Jeep Safari in Kaziranga through the dense forest. NatureWings has arranged everything perfectly for Kaziranga Jungle Safari and we had a really good time there and highly satisfied with service of NatureWings. Will recommend all of my friends or family to go with them only.
Kaziranga is the best place to spot endangered One Horned Rhino. This sanctuary is divided in 4 ranges and the western and central ranges are the best to spot the Rhinos. It has to be done through the Kaziranga Jeep Safari in central range or the Kaziranga Elephant Safari in western range which anyone will love to go for. The elephant safari gets start by 5.30 in the morning and tickets were arranged by Naturewings team. We had a zeep safari so got a chance to see the lush greenery of the dense forest from the close. We spotted the tiger from a long distance luckily and got the glimpse of the famous one horn rhino. The best part of the trip is we avail the full service of Naturewings which was extremely satisfactory and hassle free. We thank Mr. Raha and his team for all their help and making our trip memorable.
Remarkable Experience, It was my first visit with NatureWings to Shillong, Cherapunji & most importantly Kaziranga National Park in the mid Feb. The best part to highlight is about Kaziranga Elephant Safari in Bagori Range though we have experience both Kaziranga Jeep Safari & Elephant Safari. But Elephant Safari was really unforgettable; It gives us better view of One-horned Rhino, dense forest & other wildlife. We must suggest all to visit Kaziranga National park and experience Kaziranga Jungle Safari and get the experience of staying at the forest. Last but not the least, I would like to give special thanks to NatureWings team who just haven't book the perfect hotels and all other arrangements, they have taken care of every small points and organised perfectly which made our trip a remarkable one.
Plase Fill-Up, Our Kaziranga Tour Specialist Will call you
